There are two frequent statements made by museum visitors. One is, "I have something you might be interested in, but I don't know exactly what the museum puts in its collection," the other is, "Why don't you have one?" The museum appreciates those who wish to contribute to the collection of Bartlesville area history and we are always interested in knowing about objects that might be added to the museum's collection.

We are interested in a variety of items from documents, photographs and photograph negatives, postcards, books pertaining to area history, store bottles with embossed names, menus, trophies, and journals or diaries. This is only a sampling and we encourage you to ask about things that you would like to have considered for donation.

In response to not having specific items: the museum collection is made up of donated items; if it has not been presented to the museum, then we have not accquired it yet.

By donating items to the museum, you are helping to fulfill the mission of the Bartlesville Area History Museum: to ensure the collection, preservation and presentation of the history of Bartlesville and the surrounding areas of Washington County and to provide access to Bartlesville area history and historical educational opportunities for people of all ages.

Please feel free to call or visit us anytime, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m (Closed Saturday, Sunday and Holidays). We are more than happy to answer your questions concerning possible donations. We appreciate your support in our mission.
